Welcome to Older People in Action
Warwick District.
A charity that works with and for older people and the agencies that support them.
OPA is a membership organisation and its primary aim is to reduce hardship and poverty and promote learning, health and well-being and social inclusion amongst older people in Warwick District. It does this by helping to ensure older people are involved, informed, included and integrated as valued and respected members of their communities, in turn helping them to live an independent and happy life well into their later life.
To achieve this OPA undertakes a number of activities:
- Information meetings which are open to OPA members, the general public and local agencies where speakers talk about relevant and topical subjects.
- Consultations with older people to identify their aspirations and needs. Any issues which arise from consultations are fed back to the relevant organisations to ensure action is taken where possible to improve the lives of older people.
- Campaigning on behalf of older people and older people's groups to ensure they receive fair and just services and treatment.
Anyone is welcome to join OPA. Membership is free and your level of involvement is entirely up to you.
